Partagas Series D No. 4 SBN (10)
Description
The Partagas Série D N° 4 cigar is the Robusto vitola from the famous Partagas brand. It is probably the most smoked Cuban cigar in the world, along with the Montecristo N°4.
On the palate, the Partagas Série D N° 4 gets off to a flying start with aromas of cedar and pepper that intertwine brilliantly. The strength is there from the first third.
The woody side gives way to more earthy, more masculine notes, with a satisfying, full-bodied finish and a few welcome final notes of cocoa. This cigar is 124 mm long and has a diameter of 19.84 mm, and it will take you about 45 to 60 minutes to smoke.
The Partagas Série D N° 4 is available in several formats, in boxes of 10 or 25 cigars, as well as in a 3-cigar case packaged in aluminum tubes. In this D series from Partagas, you can also try the Série D N° 5 as well as the Série D N° 6, which are the little brothers of the Partagas Série D N° 4 but still pack plenty of character.
The oldest cigar factory in Cuba, Partagas was founded in 1845 by Don Jaime Partagas Ravelo when he left Spain for Havana. Owner of several tobacco farms in the Vuelta Abajo, a terroir recognized as the “grand cru” of tobaccos in the world, Don Jaime had the best raw material in hand to produce exceptional cigars. Success came quickly, and many aristocrats of every nationality counted among his loyal clients, to the point that the factory almost had to be renamed the “Royal Factory”.
Driven by its founder's forward-thinking spirit, Partagas was the first factory to experiment with different fermentation techniques and was also the first to make use of a “reader,” making the work of torcedores less monotonous and, above all, contributing to the culture and education of its employees. Following the death of Don Jaime Partagas Ravelo, the factory went through several changes of ownership until it became the property of the Cifuentes family in 1940. After the Cuban Revolution and the departure of its owners in 1961, Partagas remained one of the most important factories alongside Montecristo and Romeo y Julieta, accounting for nearly 25% of Cuban production on its own.
