A record sale of €2.8 million for the Cohiba 55 Aniversario Edición Limitada humidor
On September 9, the gala dinner took place, bringing to a close the full program of activities commemorating the 55th anniversary of Habanos’ most emblematic brand, Cohiba. The exclusive event, held in Havana, Cuba, brought together people from 43 countries and renowned national and international artists, such as James Morrison, who was in charge of performing the evening’s closing concert.
The long-awaited celebration of Cohiba’s 55th anniversary took place in Havana, Cuba, the birthplace of what is considered the best cigar in the world. Over three days, Habanos, S.A. offered its guests a full program of activities beginning with a welcome cocktail, followed by a visit to the El Laguito cigar factory, and ending with the famous gala dinner.
Throughout the event, attendees were able to enjoy a journey through the brand’s success story, especially the Cohiba launches for its 55th anniversary: Cohiba Ámbar, Cohíba Colección Ideales and Cohiba 55 Aniversario Edición Limitada. Two years after the last Habanos Festival, Cuba once again welcomed Premium tobacco lovers, and in particular Habano enthusiasts, who, in addition to this celebration night, were able to enjoy an exclusive visit to the iconic El Laguito factory, as well as a welcome cocktail in the El Laguito protocol room.

According to Leopoldo Cintra González, Commercial Vice President of Habanos, S.A.: » In addition to luxury and exclusivity, Cohiba is synonymous with the work and effort of generations that have succeeded in making it the most recognized Habanos brand in the world » and he added: » How could it be otherwise, such a unique date deserved launches at the height of what we call » the Cohiba Year » with three unique and special vitolas such as: Cohiba Ámbar, Cohiba Ideales and Cohiba 55 Aniversario Edición Limitada ».

During the event, and for the first time outside the framework of the Habano Festival, the auction of two unique humidors took place. All the Habanos they contain were made « entirely by hand with long filler » and by the finest torcedores from the El Laguito factory. The proceeds will be fully donated to Cuban public health.
