Habanos S.A. annonce une enchère exceptionnelle pour les 55 ans de Cohiba
In a few days in Havana, on the occasion of the celebration of the 55th anniversary of the world’s most prestigious Habano brand, Cohiba will auction off two unique humidors that perfectly reflect the spirit and prestige of the brand. These works of art will contain the most exquisite and prestigious Habanos, entirely handmade with long filler and by the best rollers from the El Laguito factory. The Cuban cigar maker has published the catalog for the humidor auction, which will take place during the event’s closing dinner.
A humidor that brings together all Cohiba lines
The first humidor, the Cohiba 55 Anniversario, was first presented in May 2021, after the festival was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It was designed by Nous Group and made by Humidores Habana, which has been creating humidors for Habanos S.A. for more than 20 years.
Measuring 170 cm high, 130 cm wide and 100 cm deep, its design features precious wood veneers, mother-of-pearl inlaid along the base, and the gold Cohiba 55th anniversary logo with Swarovski crystals. The interior is made of okoumé and mahogany, with trays to hold the 550 cigars supplied with the humidor. An internal humidification system and hygrometers keep the cigars in optimal condition.
As for the cigars it contains, the list is long and brings together all the lines in the Cohiba portfolio, including regular production, limited editions and a handful of cigars that are not for sale, such as the Cohiba Gran Corona :

The Rare Le Rituel Humidor & the Cohiba Ambar
The second item to be auctioned will be the first edition of Rare Le Rituel, described as a tasting cabinet combining a bottle of Champagne Rare Millésime 1988 and 44 Cohiba Ambar, a new cigar from the brand.
It measures 32 cm high, 32 cm wide and 64 cm deep, and is made of sycamore, okoumé, gold, silver and mother-of-pearl. The motifs on the sides and the inner lid are inspired by the sun and the moon. The humidor was designed by Elie Bleu, the French company that has been making humidors since 1976.
Inside the humidor are a bottle of champagne, 44 Cohiba Ambar cigars, an ashtray, a cigar cutter and cedar sheets. The Cohiba Ambar is a new vitola not only for the Cohiba brand but also for Habanos S.A.’s entire portfolio. It measures 5 1/5 (132mm) x 53, an extra robusto vitola known as Placeres. The Cohiba Ambar has not yet been released and nothing is known about it, other than that it will be sold in boxes of 10. In the catalog, Habanos S.A. describes it as having a strength ranging from medium to full, offering a strong tobacco flavor from the first puff, with a drier note developing in the second third. The final third is described as “smooth, tannic and spongy,” while retaining the dry note from the start.
The auction winner will also take home 48 additional bottles of champagne, 24 bottles of Rare Millésime 1998 and Rare Millésime 2008.
